The Audition Boot Camp
The Audition Boot Camp puts students at all levels of preparation in front of professionals to give them information they can act on immediately and answer the questions they have about a career in music. Specifically in opera. These sessions are ALL on your feet and are in front of professionals working and/or teaching today. Artist Managers, Press Representatives, General Managers, Artistic Directors, Stylists, Coaches and Conductors come, listen, share information and help create a climate of excitement and excellence.
"The Audition Boot Camp is basically everything I offer during the calendar year, combined into ten intense weeks of training and performing. Students have 150 hours of classes for $750. That's $5.00 an hour. I can only do that through the generous support of my donors who, like me, believe that cost should never be an impediment to excellent training."
The Audition Boot Camp was founded in response to the raising din of student questions regarding the ever changing landscape of creating a career in the arts. This is an intensive program that is affordable, challenging and provides students with real time answers to questions about repertoire, auditions, and managing a career. Structured as a series of Master Classes, coaching sessions and workshops it is designed to inspire participants to dig deeper and provide them with real time information they can act on, use instantly and perform now.
We will be looking at the five aria requirement for most American opera houses, young artists programs and competitions.
All participants must come prepared to participate.
To honor participants with full time jobs and family obligations this year The Audition Boot Camp will conduct its classes and Master Classes evenings from 6:30 - 9:30pm and weekends. Artist Manager Master Class sessions that will meet from 4 - 7pm.
There is a mandatory Saturday afternoon performance requirement as a part of a community series called : Aria Madness.
Students will start with an aria that the coaches, in cooperation with the student, have decided is ready to be in front of the public.
They will add to that aria every week until they are performing all 5 arias together as a part of their "audition season" package.
